Silicon Nomads is a group of young people hailing from Somaliland ( The Jewel of Horn of Africa). The group came together to build an ecosystem for tech startups to thrive
The main goal of this hackathon program is to facilitate Somaliland geeks to acquire skills like collaboration, communication, and most importantly confidence. This program will give them the opportunity to experience the real work-like environment as well as network and also have the chance to land a job from the sponsors.
Theme of the year is “Solving Healthcare Problems in Somaliland” and the problem for the 1st quarter hackathon will be “Solving Blood storage issues”. Technologies are not limited, teams can use what they feel comfortable with.
Registration will continue until the number of attendees reaches 50. Attendees will be divided into 5 teams. There will also be 6 judges (2 Developers (Front/back-end), 1 Business, 1 Product, 1 Designer, 1 Honorable Judge which will announce the results). Local mentors.
Eligibility
Anyone over the age of 18 and residing in Somaliland can take part. You can register for our hackathon as an individual or as a project team (up to 5 people).
Requirements
You present your results in a short video (max. 4 minutes). Mainly deals with the following points:
Problem /
Description of the problem.
Solution:
Describe your approach and present your concrete results and solutions.
Procedure and next steps:
How do you want to bring your solution into Somaliland and what do you need for it?
Team:
Briefly introduce yourself and your roles in the team so that we can get to know you better.

Each winning team member will receive a cash prize (up to 5 members). One attendee cannot claim prizes on behalf of multiple individuals.

3rd Place Prize
Each winning team member will receive a cash prize (up to 5 members). One attendee cannot claim prizes on behalf of multiple individuals.
