We work continually with FWC using prescribed burning to maintain and restore native plant species’ composition and structure.
The USACE and South Florida Water Management Disctrict are working cooperatively with local contractors on the wetland and sheetflow restoration across the Everglades, including the Picayune Strand State Forest. Our company played a role in this large project by pile burning the land clearing portion of the Picayine Protection Levee. Pile burning is a preferred method to hauling of materials for its efficiency in minimizing the spread of invasive species and allowing for the nutrients of the burned material to give back to earth.
Our company has been trusted by FWC for the annual strip mowing of old and overgrown pasture/agriculture fields to improve quail habitat. Mowing benefits quail by reducing non-native plans, providing quality nesting foraging habitat
