Couldn't get rid of all the vertical streaks in the background, because of how the Velvet Room is, but I tried to clean it up best I could.

Anyway, question is, what exactly is all the text on it? I know it's some sort of astrology chart -- planets and prolly elements and stuff? -- but I can't really make out the letters, and I'd like to recreate it, bigger.

This was taken from Persona 3 Portable... anyone have good clear caps of a fusion in progress in Persona 4, maybe? Or the PS2 P3 games? ....Able to fill me in on the words in this spread? Any help would be appreciated, here. :)

This started out as a comment to someone on dA rambling about sex/gender/etc, and I decided I'd post it here due to length and stuff. It is not entirely accurate, it is all a gross oversimplification of this sort of stuff, and I'm totally not even going into all the little nuances that exist. It's more just a quick-and-dirty (not pervy, just sloppily done) overview, since I kind of wish someone had written this up for me back in my Jr High sex ed class. Or something better than this, really, but at least then, I wouldn't have been so confused and... feeling different. (They always talked about when you start feeling whatever, but I don't recall them saying if. Assuming a heteronormative gender binary interested in sex, and presenting the info in those terms, only works for most students.)

TL;DR before I even begin: The presumed male/female binary isn't a binary, like people tend to think. It might mostly seem to hold true, but it really doesn't. >_>

Right now, the Honduran Congress is considering a vote on a law that would jail women for using emergency contraception, even in cases of rape.

But according to this petition, the head of their Congress is a presidential candidate over there, who actually gives a crud about his worldwide reputation, not just his reputation within his own country.

So there's a petition working to get a million signatures condemning this bill. Maybe if the world puts enough pressure on them, this can get killed before it ever becomes a law.

The petition's looking for a million signatures before May 16th, when it'll be delivered to their head Congress guy, one Juan Orlando Hernández. Here's hoping more people will sign it; I did.

Chai tea, from generally common kitchen ingredients:

8th grade or so, I came up with this, because I only knew of chai tea from the coffee shops, and was in love with it... but that cost money, which I did not have. So I came up with this, after a determined hour or two in the kitchen, taste-testing and comparing it to the last inch or two of the cup of it I'd gotten earlier that day.

Edit: I always did have some trouble getting the spices (the cinnamon, in particular) to soak up the water properly in the first place, come to think of it. Maybe it'd work better to add that drop or two of vanilla to the spices before wrapping them up, since vanilla extract is alcohol-based and thus will soak the cinnamon far more readily than water will? It might be worth playing with....

Overslept. Had a chat with a better friend of mine who's been another of my coworkers at the game store, via the phone (gasp, I actually got on it?) and we vented about junk together for a few, joked around, told stories, generally caught up again....

Hung up with her, sent her something via email I'd told her about, played with my pup.

Felt better.

RPed a bit with some friends, read some news articles online.

Realized it was after 6pm and thus the mall (and the store) were closed by that point anyway.

Decided screwit. Not going to bother calling Ian to have him check with security. I'll just hold it over his head later that he should've investigated nonsense like that, and he shouldn't be surprised if I'm not happy with him pretty much accusing me of crap I honestly didn't do, just because someone claimed it, especially if that someone impersonated someone else to do so.

....Which will open up a whole 'nother can of worms if that one coworker told him a story other than the one she told me.

I'm just going to walk away from that mess and see what happens. If Ian wants to try apologizing in the nebulous future if things go badly, I don't know what my answer will be yet. I really don't.

LJ's changes ticked me off last night, so I did a quickie layout. This is not that layout. This one is a modified version of a layout I did specifically for an RP game, building a stylesheet for Style Contest from the ground up.

EDIT: After some more poking around, I think I figured out what's wrong, that it's cutting off threads. It isn't the layout itself. Like I explained in this thread, the S2 layout system is broken; after too many comments on one page, it gives up and stops generating HTML. This means that it won't matter that the entry footer claims you've got five hundred comments in ten threads all on the one page; you'll probably only be able to see about 125 of them at one time no matter where you scroll; viewing the source says they don't exist on the page there.

And apparently it's been like this before the update...?

Ugh.

Casual use and logs where the comments are all replies to the original entry should be fine; threaded RPs and really long conversations, not so much. Please note, this goes for ALL layouts, as far as I'm aware, aside from the LJ Default.

Which rather defeats the purpose of using a custom layout in an RP community that does threading, now doesn't it. :(
