I have been neglecting everything it seems. Sigh. How are you all? Hopefully well :-)

I have now found a flat in South London. If all goes to plan I will move in on the 18th.

YAY!

If I'm super organised I might even get to sign up in time to vote in the London Mayor Election.

In the mean time I am off to Spain. Yup, you heard me right. I've only just started a new job and I'm off on holiday. Would be bad timing but my boss is off same time as me so it's actually worked out really well. I'm going to Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and Cadiz with my family for my mum's 60th birthday. I've organised everything so fingers crossed it goes well.

I'm also still planning a weekend event for the last charity I was working with. Only 50 young people this time. Oh the joy. It will also mean working 2 weeks without a break. Still, things could be worse... I think?

Writerverse is going okay at the moment, you should all join! I've managed to write quite a few Sherlock and Glee drabbles thanks to the challenges. I definitely work best when it feels like a competition. I'll probably post a masterlist of them at some point.

In further news of Mali - We withdrew all of our volunteers early. Everything went off without a hitch. Yay! Unfortunately America has pulled out of the country completely and it looks like we might have to follow, which is sad because we had some amazing disability projects going on there. But then politics always tends to fuck things up for the people who really need help. Sigh.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

The day honours the work of the Suffragettes, celebrates women's success, and reminds us of the inequities still to be redressed.

Celebrating women internationally is a vital contribution to shifting gender relations.

Currently at work we're encouraging everyone to get involved this International Women’s Day. Sharing Her Story is something easy and inspiring that everyone can do.

All you have to do is:

• Think of a woman who you think should be celebrated. This can be someone you know personally, someone you once met or heard speak, or someone you admire who you’ve learned about through articles or documentaries.
• Arrange a get together (small or large) with friends or family on International Women’s Day and share your chosen story through storytelling or conversation.

Sometimes it's not ideal to meet up with friends, especially LJ friends who can be thousands of miles away. That's why I'm suggesting that on 8 March you post a story on LJ about a woman you think deserves be praised so that others can realise how wonderful they are.
