What can we do for you

Supporting excellence and growth in the moving industry

Payment Guarantee Program

Protects members by compensating unpaid invoices when another member fails to pay due to bankruptcy, cessation of operations, or expulsion.

FINANCIAL & DISPUTE RESOLUTION ASSISTANCE

The LACMA Payment Guarantee Program (LACMAPGP) is a compensation scheme designed to protect LACMA members in cases where another member fails to pay invoices for household goods and personal effects due to bankruptcy, cessation of operations, or expulsion from the association. It is not credit insurance and does not replace members’ credit controls or protect against extended credit terms.

In addition to the Payment Guarantee Program (PGP), which applies in cases of bankruptcy, cessation of operations, or expulsion, LACMA supports members in resolving financial disputes and outstanding balances with other LACMA members, as well as providing arbitration services when needed.

CLAIMS:

LACMA effectively assists members in collecting overdue amounts from other association members. Claims submitted to LACMA must be supported by irrefutable documents, as per LACMA Regulations.

ARBITRATION:

If a dispute or disagreement arises between two members and mutually agreeable terms cannot be reached, the Claim & Arbitration Committee will be appointed to assist in finding a fair solution for both parties.

LACMA By-Laws & Regulations, and PAYMENT GUARANTEE PROGRAM (LACMAPGP) Regulations apply.

LACMA Certified Packers

Mandatory since 2019 for all LACMA Active members, this certification enhances service quality and develops high-performance operational teams.

KEY OBJECTIVES
  • Standardize and improve packing operations across member companies.
  • Develop internal Leader-Coaches capable of training and guiding packing teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement, teamwork, customer orientation, and risk management through coaching techniques.
CERTIFICATION PROCESS
  1. Selection: Companies nominate candidates (not packers) to undergo a virtual evaluation to identify the best Leader-Coach profile.
  2. Training: Selected candidates attend a specialized seminar focused on leadership, coaching, communication, and team development—not packing techniques.
  3. Application: Certified Leader-Coaches implement internal training workshops for packing teams, supported by schedules, evaluations, and follow-up plans, which are reviewed by LACMA.
  4. Certification: After successful implementation, the company receives LCP certification, valid for two years.
RE CERTIFICATION PROCESS
  • Required every two years, re-certification evaluates the Leader-Coach’s performance and key operational indicators to maintain high-quality standards.

Additional Notes:

Companies must maintain at least one active Leader-Coach.

Certification may be lost if workshops are not conducted, if the Leader-Coach leaves without replacement, or if repeated operational failures are reported.

The program’s methodology can also be applied to other areas within the company beyond packing operations.
