Eligibility
You are allowed to form teams before the event. We will help group together folks that are looking for additional members on site.
- Best use of data. Must use data provided for this hackathon. However, we encourage you to incorporate outside data as well!
- Best idea pitch. There are limitless creative ways to approach reducing recycling contamination. Look at innovative things other cities have done using design, targeted education, and strategic partnerships, or come up with your own concept. Sky is the limit!

Are you interested in bringing your project to reality after the hack day? Hacker Fund incubates technology projects that are charitable, educational, and scientific. Winners will be offered an interview to join the incubator and continue working on their social impact project.

Did the team approach the data and/or problem in an innovative way? Is this something that can scale? Does the team analyze the data to provide new insights that the City can use? -
Idea Pitch
Is this a project that can be implemented with enough funding and mentorship support? Is this project possible to implement through technology? Does this effectively address recycling contamination in a way that is coherent and measurable?
