[sticky post] Fic List

This post is a listing for all the stories that are in this livejournal.  (for stories up to January 2, 2017)

Fic ListCollapse )

Dear Yuletide Letter

Thank you for reading my letter.  I have barely written the last few years but 2020 needs to end with nice gifts for all.

yuletide gifts

Oops. I was sure I posted this last month but turns out been only visible to me.

These are the fics I received for Yuletide. All three of these fics are not for the weak but that was what I asked for regarding these specific fandoms.  See each listing for more specific warnings.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Mac's Fursona by SapphoIsBurning.  My yuletide letter specified that I like when the gang is misinformed when it comes to current issues.  Mac and Charlie's takes on furry culture definitely qualifies.  Wonderfully twisted, whether about Charlie taking very well to them or visualizing Mac wearing moldy carpet scraps and thinking he's a mascot.  This could fit in the show perfectly, the dialogue is that spot-on.  Warning: dubcon

It's Always Sunny on Election Night by Bard.  It's the intro of an episode in which the gang deals with the 2016 election results.  We learn how Charlie thinks voting works and Dennis sensing a business opportunity.

Bates Motel

Brothers by SegeBarrett.  I love the Dylan/Norman dynamic, so knowing it will take a major hit in uncoming episodes now that their mother is dead especially intrigues me.  Warning: sibling incest.

tennisfic - buena onda

Title: buena onda
Author: Kris S.
Fandom: Tennis RPF
Players: Juan Martin del Potro, Andy Murray
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This did not happen.
Summary: 5 Moments in Juan Martin's 2016 Comeback, and 1 Time He Sees Even More Could Come
Author's Note: Written for healingmirth for yuletide collection.

One of those stories Juan Martin clearly missed during this lost season was that British tennis actually wasn’t just wherever Andy was playing at a given time.  Andy’s brother actually making Grand Slam finals and some challenger guy named James Ward beating John Isner were facts that didn’t really make sense to him.

Brainstorming Post

Yes, I know I haven't written much of late.  (I did write a yuletide fic, which I obviously cannot post about until January 1.)

This post is hopes for a little help.

Due to my own yuletide letter, I got inspired regarding a new fic.  It merges my two fave fandoms: tennis and hockey.  Specifically, the want for Stan the Hockey Player.

Outline: The Blackhawks need to go cheap again and end up trading Brent Seabrook (I haven't figured out which team yet).  They end up with a Swiss hockey player named Stan Wawrinka, who is better known in North America for his friendships with tennis players Roger Federer and Andy Murray than his hockey skills.  Duncan Keith, who is so used to having Brent by his side, is trying to adjust to life with a new defenseman but Stan is just too quiet for him.

I'm thinking the pairings will be Stan/Andy (as in, everyone thinks Stan is with Roger so no one connects it's the other tennis player), Brent/Duncan.

If anyone wants to throw out ideas regarding this, please include in the comments.

I participated in Not Prime Time.  While Silly Old Bear and the Missing Tail was technically written due to a Not Prime Time letter, my actual submission was *gasp* not tennis.  That said, there are three amazing Rafa/Andy fics that were written for this.  Should've Just Asked Him Out was the one written for my letter, as well as Sharpened Edges, which is a Corey Crawford/Jonathan Toews fic - both written by prompt_fills.

Funny thing is that I've now done three of these involving the matching algorithm (two Not Prime Time, one yuletide).  All three times I offered tennis and hockey - have yet to match on either fandom.  This is the second time I defaulted and ended up writing other stuff to make amends (first time I wrote Community fic, which was a fun exercise).

Title: just because we are Canadian does NOT mean we are spies
Author: Kris S.
Fandom: Hockey RPF
Pairings: Sidney Crosby/Jonathan Toews, past Crosby/Evgeni Malkin, possible Malkin/Artemi Panarin
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This did not happen.
Summary: Evgeni believes Jonny knows what's going on with Sid. Rather than ask him, he tries to get information from Artemi.
Author's Note: Title is a quote from the TV show NewsRadio, and the inspiration for this.

It's just... Evgeni can't help but notice how shifty Sid looks whenever he's actually dealing with these messages.

It's as if he doesn't want anyone to know he's talking to the enemy.

Title: Silly Old Bear and the Missing Tail
Author: Kris S.
Fandom: Tennis RPS
Pairings: Andy Murray/Juan Martin del Potro (if you squint), Juan Monaco/Rafael Nadal
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This did not happen.
Summary: Everyone loves Delpo. Andy has to pretend he's on board.

Author's Note: You are not imagining things. I really did finally write a fic.

Silly Old Bear and the Missing Tail

Update

As anyone who has friended me has noticed, I haven't posted anything written in 2016.

That doesn't mean I haven't been writing.Collapse )

I admit I didn't stay for Tommy... mainly because he was practicing with Fognini, who is frustrating to watch in practice.

One thing I will say is that the top players are really good for the fans.…

It's the one time of year where being broke for travel is okay, as this is only an hour from where I live. Glad you enjoyed. Will be posting Saturday pics shortly.

    Omg Richie/Tommy/Magnus/Stan!!! ♥_♥ So jealous! :)

That's cool that you got to meet Ben, haha. Shame Vicky lost, but it's nice to see her back and competing.

    It's heartening to hear…

This was very interesting. I don't have the means to go to any GS so it was nice experiencing it vicariously.

The second kiss (and I didn't see this one but others insist) was the post-match hug, where it could appear that Novak kissed Andy's neck but he was definitely in tight.

    Glad you enjoyed.
