In December of 1957, the foundation issued its first grant: $500 to the Broome County United Fund. Today, the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation grants approximately $1 million annually. Since its inception, the Klee Foundation has awarded more than $34 million to nonprofit organizations throughout Broome County and the town of Guilford, New York.
Our work today continues the legacy of Conrad and Virginia Klee by supporting organizations in Broome County, New York, that contribute to the health, education, and economic vitality of our community.
Our board meets bimonthly and considers grant applications on an ongoing basis. We encourage Broome County nonprofit organizations interested in applying to refer to the grant guidelines published on this website.
