Koh Samui is often referred to as the Island of Coconut Palms, with over 3.5 million coconuts produced here. These coconuts are recognized as some of the best in the world. If you plan to visit Samui, it’s important to take into account the region’s climate characteristics. Life on Samui slows down early, as most establishments close by 10 PM. However, there are also restaurants offering 24-hour service. The rainy season usually lasts only from the end of October through November. The island is an excellent vacation destination for the rest of the year. There is almost no classic wave surfing on Samui. However, it is one of the best islands in Thailand for Koh Samui kitefoil. There are several schools on the beach where you can get training with professional instructors. The best conditions await you in the season from November to February, when there are steady winds. You can swim all year round, but from May to July, the sea in the north becomes too shallow for comfortable swimming. The East Coast is the busiest part of the island, with plenty of opportunities for active leisure and shopping, perfect for young travelers and sports lovers. Many visitors choose to kite Koh Samui thanks to the ideal wind conditions and reasonable prices. The South Coast, especially Bang Kao Beach, is perfect for diving, kitefoiling, and snorkeling enthusiasts. SUP Koh Samui experiences are easy to book daily here. The area features a rocky seabed and a beautiful nearby reef. The West Coast, with Laem Yai Bay, is known for the most beautiful sunsets on the island. Try a peaceful morning on a stand-up paddle board Koh Samui. Samui offers something for every type of traveler — the key is to choose the right coastline. The island is full of white-sand beaches and family-friendly parks, perfect for relaxing together: Bophut, Maenam, and Bang Po beaches on the northern coast are ideal for peaceful, romantic getaways, featuring calm seas. The northeastern coast with Choeng Mon Beach is great for families with small children. Want to learn something new? Try Koh Samui wingfoil lessons with expert instructors and friendly small-group lessons. If you’re looking for adventure, explore Samui’s abandoned sites hidden far from the tourist hubs. Want to see many sights in a short time? Book a jeep safari sightseeing tour. Paddle boarding in Koh Samui is a relaxing way to explore the coastline — equipment rental is available at great prices. Samui also offers a wide range of natural attractions, including waterfalls, rock formations, and, of course, more beaches. Whatever your interests, you’re sure to find something to love on this beautiful island.
