Going through COVID 19 related layoff (apparently, companies need sales to happen for payroll to happen. Who knew? :-p)

Working on a side gig, striving to make it profitable, at least to replace some of my income.  I'm okay at the moment, focusing on taking this step by step while also looking for a new job.  Weekend virtual workshops by SCORE (non-profit organization of mentors partnered with SBA -Small Business Administration) is giving me great tips and focus.

So! Do you know of spiritual entrepreneurs who are looking for tech help with social media? (people who provide tarot readings, reiki services, yoga and meditation,  creating crystal grids, etc).  This is my audience.  I'd love to help them!

I'm making some good connections already, potential clients.  Lot of stuff to build, create and add to my website.

This is completely ALL SB's fault. In her fantastic AU followup to my "Jane's Death" fic, she has Jane and Cho making a bet. If Jane wins, he'll take Cho out for dinner, which makes Cho wonder if it's a date and Jane is interested or merely a friendly coworker dinner. SB and I were chatting about this and what might've happened if Cho had clarified if it was a date or just two friends going to dinner. Cracky fluff ensues!

I'm having a bit of a rough time at the moment. I've been laid off, and I'm trying urgently to keep my car. As some of you may know, I use a wheelchair, and it's hard to get to interviews in the D/FW area without a car.

I could really use some help from my friends, but I don't want a handout. Instead, I'm offering custom abstract acrylic paintings (on 9x12 loose canvas). My art can be found here .

I am also offering to do soothing guided meditation phone calls. I've done many of these calls for friends and I've been told they are very peaceful and calming.

I appreciate any support. Thank you. <3

FYI: A rebounder is a mini-trampoline. The Physical Therapists had some unusual names for some of the stretches with the exercise bands. "No money" is a move with your arms bent at the elbow at a 90 degree angle, palms up, parallel to the ground, with your elbows right against your side. They explained it to me that it's like someone broke showing they have no money in their hands. :)

I'm behind on arrangements but I'm supposed to be at a leadership conference thing on Sep 23-25 and I need lodging and any cheap airline ticket ideas or tips.

I'm looking for either a reasonable hotel/motel room that is wheelchair accessible or perhaps couchsurfing at a fellow fen's house that has no more than 1-3 steps?

Also, what's your fav deal for a cheap roundtrip ticket from Dallas to Chicago? Nonstop would work the best with the wheelchair...

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Yay for kaethe making the long trek to visit me yesterday! Lovely day spent catching up and best of all, painting! Woot!

Oh and PSA: kaethe is totally an artist and don't believe anything otherwise! I hope she'll post her paintings. Love them! :)

Then later in the day while we were still painting, my young niece's BFF and that BFF's sister came to visit my niece...and were immediately drawn into painting with us. Much fun painting and getting to know that BFF's sister. Sweet, fun, silly girls.

What a great fun "girls" day!

More people are not only adding a DW account but now moving there completely.

Darnit but I got a permanent acct on LJ two years ago or something like that.

Darn. I've been working on this off and on since mid-December! I have some good individual scenes done and more outlined but I need to just go in and write them. My shiny new job is still shiny and great but the two hour daily commute (roundtrip) is making it hard to get some things done during the week.

Thank you to everyone for the great feedback on the series so far. It really means a lot and makes a huge difference!

Hopefully SB and I can get some collaboration time to chat tonight; she's like my writing partner even though we're writing different stories. My best Jane/Cho stuff comes out of our chats.
