After being made redundant, my brother has found a new job! In Madrid! I'm already planning a trip to visit him and to eat lots of tapas.

Truth be told, I was getting worried about him. The relief is something, even if it mean that he has to move to another country.

FFS. I use megaupload to store/backup work projects and photos - totally legal. Luckily I have nothing lost since I backup onto an external harddrive too, but I can't have been the only one to use it a file storage. A little warning would have been nice!

Cars are driven by drunk drivers, what next? Destroying all the roads? Talk about using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I need an angry icon.

I've just booked 4 tickets for the Leonard Da Vinci exhibition at the National today. £17.60 per ticket!

Why so expensive, National? Monet, Picasso and van Gogh were half the price!

...it's not a real complaint - I guess I'm just expressing and sharing my shock. £17.60! This 'lost Leonard' better not be as disappointing as the Mona Lisa, is all I'm saying.

Conservative peer Lord Wolfson has offered a £250,000 prize for the best method of enabling a country to leave the euro

The idea is suppose to get the worlds brightests economic minds thinking about the problem of how a country could leave the euro with causing financial chaos [read - the politicians are admitting that they don't have a clue of what to do over the Euro problem! Help!!]

Well, I don't know if there are any economic masterminds reading this, but just in case there are...or even if you're not it seems the goverments are open to any ideas! I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Anyway, the prize will be the 2nd biggest for economists after the Nobel prize and is open for suggestions till 31 January 2012.

It's September but 28 degress here at the moment and I've had an ice-cream for lunch.

The world feels at odds with itself at the moment.

Downton Abbey: HQ Series 2 trailer

The world was in a dream before the war, but now it's woken up and said goodbye to it.

Not enough Sybil in the trailer, but Anna looks radiant. I cannot wait!!

I'm following the riots on twitter - looks like the looting is starting in Manchester, reports of gangs in Market Street and Cathedral Street with masked people congregating outside the Arndale Centre.

So, Manchester sends it's a proportion of it's police force to London, and now it looks like Manchester is in trouble...this is crazy.

Yet, there is still humour. I like the soundbite from Waterstone's employee on the news though: "We'll stay open, if they steal some books they might learn something". Actually, the thought of books burning is quite distressing :/

Early closing sign at Subway - "Due to the imminent collapse of society..."

Imminent collapse of society indeed...what is happening to my country? This is no longer a protest, just destruction of people's homes and livelihoods. It's so stupid.
