Call for Christmas Card Bids!

So, it's that time of year...the time of year I start looking for artists to draw my Christmas cards. I generally buy a couple high-end commissions, so if you're interested, I've listed what I'm looking for below:

1. Full color, 2+ character images in seasonal attire/situations. Descriptions and refs will be provided. Generally I go for fluffy images--characters hugging or sharing a kiss under the mistletoe.

2. Characters will be fan characters, so the artist has to be cool with drawing fan art from various game sources.

3. Artwork must be in my hands by December 1, 2010 so I have time to print and send the cards. Deadline is especially important this year because of my travel and family situation.

4. I'll need the artist to send me a high-resolution, digital copy.

5. Artist must be cool with me printing the image and mailing it on a card. Credit is given on the back and the images will then be posted to my LJ with full credit and links after the cards go out.

6. I'm comfortable with fronting money to artists I know. If I don't know you, I'd prefer to do half-and-half payments. Half when the order is made, and half when complete.

I'm leaving this post unlocked in case any artist friends want to link people to it. Contact me via LJ PM, comment here or email me at mathiusilverberg AT gmail DOT com

Please send me a general idea for a price of 2 characters in full color. Also, if you're coming in via a friend link, please send a link to samples of your work.

Friends List Cut

I went through and defriended LJs from people I haven't heard from in awhile, usernames I did not immediately recognize or folks that just seem to have disappeared. (LJ hadn't been updated in 6 months or more)

If I removed you and you want to be re-added, please comment here and give me a reminder of how we know each other.

Friends Only!

Crimson flames tied through my years
Rollin' high and mighty trapped
Countless violent flaming roads
Using ideas as my map
We'll meet on edges soon said I
Proud neath heated brow
Ah but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now

Half wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic flanks of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow
Ah but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now

In a soldiers stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not Id become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
Sisters fled by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow
Ah but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now

My guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow
Ah but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now

    Howdy!
It's always nice to meet another Suikoden and Dylan fan!!! I'm not on LJ as much anymore--I've pretty much moved to DW and Plurk--but welcome nonetheless!
