I’ve put a lot of thought into what surrounds me where I spend the greatest part of my life and would love to share it with you.
Photos:
Here’s a photo of my office command center in it’s arrangement as of October 17, 2016.
Gear:
I have three 27″ LED Asus monitors on a 72″ Versa Center Desk with Dioder 4 Piece Light Strip Set* (set to purple) , Merc Stealth Steelseries Keyboard* (that glows purple), Delcom Quad Foot Switch (for my push to talk), Logitech G500* gaming mouse, Samson Professional Studio Headphones with AntLion Attachable Boom Microphone* and very comfortable Realspace PRO Quantum Mesh Chair.
The panorama wallpaper on the monitors is a photo I took of Los Lagos Reservoirs Number 3 near Nederland, Colorado https://goo.gl/maps/cvZM5 . You can see it in full on https://flic.kr/p/wh8soo.
I recently installed https://chrome.google.com/…/fhnegjjodccfaliddboelcleikb… which tells me that I have 216 Chrome Browser tabs open with an All-Time high of 234 tabs. Yes I’m a super multitask-er.
My computer is plugged into a APC Back-UPS 1500VA UPS System* (Read my article “Why you should use a battery backup for you computer“). Everything else (3 monitors, speakers w/sub, printer, 3 external hard drives, Neat Desk Scanner*, purple glowy light strip & desk laps) is plug into a 12 outlet power strip that is plugged into a Woods Outdoor 24-Hr Photoelectric Timer with Remote Control*. This way, at the end of the day I can turn of all of these vampire power suckers in one click. Its so cool I’m probably going to get this 5-Pack Outlet 2 Wireless Remote package* next for other things around the house and the Christmas lights.
With the Versa Center Desk, it is all adjustable so I have it lowered to 24″ from the standard 30″ to accommodate my body proportions (being 5’2″) better. With the chair lowered, my feet rest flat on the floor and don’t put unnecessary pressure on my thighs and with the adjustable arms, my arms are parallel to the desk. I’m at it 8+ hours a day and don’t have too much strain.
Internet:
The internet that runs this massive Command Center is 1 Gig Google Fiber in Kansas City! It is soooo amazing and at $70/month ($127 internet + television) it beats everything in the USA! It up to 1,000 Mbps, Google Fiber is 100 times faster than today’s basic broadband, allowing you to get what you want instantaneously. You no longer have to wait on things buffering; everything will be ready to go when you are. So whether you are video chatting, uploading family videos, or playing your favorite online games, all you need to do is click and you’re there.
Here is my speed test and you get yours from SpeedTest.net!

Wow. I’m impressed….! But it’s much too complicated for me to grasp. All those techy words! I’m a writer, but I don’t understand any of ’em. LOL. It looks and sounds great, though, Karissa. I can’t believe how far you’ve come from your first “Kool-Aid Stand” when you were a little girl. Your Mama couldn’t be more proud! <3
You rock! Although I’m an AMD guy…
