I spent the first 40 years of my life promoting what I now see as narrow, controlling, fear-based religion. Today I consider myself a seeker. I pray to Jesus, but I engage with religion very differently than I did in the past.

I’m an advocate for the freedom to change, grow, and walk away from systems and beliefs that no longer fit. I want to see both religious and non-religious communities become healthier and more honest.

I founded Clear & Loud, as a place to explore story, meaning, and transformation. My background in religion has given me a particular vantage point on why people long for purpose and how those longings shape our choices.
