Grade 8 Open House

The Grade 8 Open House event will provide information for both the regular program and the Advanced Placement Program.

Thursday October 9, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Our Guidance Counsellors will visit our Grade 8 feeder schools in November to provide registration packages and information about the registration process.  Our feeder schools are listed below:

  • Our Lady of Good Voyage
  • St. Bernadette 
  • St. Valentine
  • St. Herbert 
  • St. David of Wales
  • St. Raymond

Completed registration packages are due to the Grade 8 teacher on January 12, 2026.

 

Registration - Current D.P.C.D.S.B. Students

Students who are currently attending a D.P.C.D.S.B. school and wish to apply to St. Joseph C.S.S. are asked to reach out to our Guidance Department at: joessguidance@dpcdsb.org

 

Important Instructions

  2. A representative from the school will contact parents of applicants to discuss next steps.
  3. Registration for September 2026 begins February 9th, 2026.

Welcome to the Guidance and Career Education Department

The Guidance and Career Education department at St. Joseph Secondary School is available to assist students and parents in our community with academic, personal and career planning. Our site provides information and links that are designed to assist you in these three areas. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our department at 905-812-1376, ext. 74181.

The Guidance Department is available to you in a number of ways: They include sending out information through Myblueprint, sharing of information through our Instagram page at: joesguidance, and twitter at @stjoesss. Please follow us. Also, each counsellor has created their own Google Classroom page.  Please join the classroom of your respective counsellor using the codes listed below.  If you are not aware, your counsellor is assigned according to the first letter of your last name.  Information and documents will be posted through Google Classroom.

Students wishing to book an appointment with their counsellor are asked to do so via e-mail. Please provide details about your issue so that your counsellor can prepare to meet with you.

Passwords: Changes, Set Up and/or Reset

Attention students who may need a password reset or who are new to our school and do not have a log in and password for our system. If this applies to you, please contact john.lepage@dpcdsb.org in order to have it reset or to be given a brand new log in and password. Or please call 905.812.1376 x 74165, or 74135, or 74190. 

Course Drop/Change

To drop or change a course you must download the Request for Timetable Change form, have your parents sign it and send it to the appropriate counsellor.

Students Taking Private school Courses

If you are taking private school courses and you need those courses to graduate, you MUST ask your private school to email us a pdf copy of your report card once you complete the course.  It MUST come from the private school directly to us, not from the student.  Please have them forward the report card to your guidance counsellor's e-mail found above.
Your private school is responsible for uploading your marks to OCAS and/or OUAC.

Community Service Volunteer Hours

In order to graduate, you must perform 40 hours of community service. If you are unsure of what would qualify, see your guidance counsellor PRIOR to your volunteer experience. All hours must be documented and signed off on by the recieving organization. See below to access the links to download a Christian Community Service Log Sheet and/or student passport.
