The JAX Emperor, part of our Concert Grand Piano Collection, is a virtual instrument comprising a sound module and audio unit, featuring carefully curated Japanese-style piano models. Notably, this plugin is optimized for mobile devices by utilizing minimal system resources—typically between 50 to 100 MB of RAM—while delivering superior sonic quality compared to large sampled piano libraries that are often unsuitable for mobile use due to their considerable disk and memory requirements.

Advanced features have been integrated into the series, including the simulation of string and body resonances. The instruments exhibit high expressive potential, avoiding rasterized velocity steps by supporting up to 128 dynamic levels. This approach mitigates velocity switching artifacts common in sampled pianos, which often rely on insufficient velocity layers to replicate the full dynamic range of a real piano.

The initial release, called the 'Superior,' lays the foundation for an expanding series. Future releases will include additional models such as our American-style (Imperior) and Japanese-style (Emperor) grand pianos, along with the Xcelsior (largest grands) and Xperior (selected grands). Each collection offers a diverse palette of sound characteristics—at least four base models plus sixteen hybrid fusion models—all accessible instantly via touch during performances. Consequently, users have access to twenty distinct timbres per concert grand instrument, comprising twenty unique base sounds and their sixteen hybrids (totaling an impressive 100 different configurations).

Designed primarily for performing classical and jazz music across decades, these instruments include an integrated MIDI player capable of playback with sample-accurate timing. Hundreds of pre-recorded performances are included for evaluation, encompassing works by renowned pianists from various eras. Each model offers its own set of MIDI files for randomized playback, enhancing practice and audition sessions.

User interface optimizations are tailored specifically for iPhone and iPad operation for intuitive use, while macOS versions mirror these interfaces but are optimized for larger displays.
