Who can apply for a Japan eVisa?

To apply, applicants must meet 2 conditions:

1. Hold a Passport from an eVisa Eligible Country listed below:

2. Have a Valid Residence Permit or Sticker Visa from one of the listed countries: 

• Australia
• Brazil
• Cambodia 
• Canada
• Saudi Arabia
• South Africa
• Taiwan
• United Kingdom
• United States of America

Note: If the document has expired, valid proof of extension (e.g., an Advance Parole document, a passport stamp, etc.) is also required.

Japan eVisa Application Requirements 

These documents are needed for the Japan eVisa application:

• Passport bio page
• A permanent residence card or a valid visa. Expired documents must be supported by valid proof of extension.
• Photograph
• In-and-out flight ticket 
• The last 3 months’ bank statements issued by a bank in your country of residence.

How to Apply for a Japan eVisa

Step 1: Submit the Application 

Provide the required details; select the processing option, upload the documents, and submit the application. 

Step 2: Pay the Fee 

The fee can be paid using a credit/debit card or another accepted payment method. 

Step 3: Wait for Processing 

Standard processing takes 26- 32 Working Days; faster processing (rush) 20- 26 Working Days; and the fastest processing (super rush) takes 14 - 20 Working Days. 

Step 4: Application Tracking

Applicants receive email updates and can track their status on the application portal.

Step 5: Receive Approval 

Approved Japan eVisas are sent by email and are valid for tourism purposes only.

Fee for the Japan eVisa 

The Japan eVisa fee varies depending on the selected processing option; rush and super rush processing add an additional cost to the Japan eVisa fee.
