1) If I were to ask you to put together a time capsule to bury deep into the ground, and for you to place items that would best describe who you are as a person, what items would those be and why did you select them?
Nikon camera, a family photo album, a pro-choice button, CD single of 'God' by Tori Amos, a red AIDS ribbon and a Harry Potter Lego set.
The camera and photo album, because photography is my passion (and my job) and although there are no pictures of me (hey I'm always behind the camera not in front of it) photos preserve a moment in time for me. The button because it's just something I strongly believe in and we are obligated to fight for the causes we find just. The song, because we all should question our faith and figure out what our path should be, not just blindly accept the gods of our father and sometime irreverence makes you think. The AIDS ribbon is a sad but important reminder that we are all fragile and mortal and we need to have compassion for each other.
And finally the HP legos, cause deep down inside we are all just kids still itching to come out and play.
2) If Roe v. Wade were to be overturned, what would you do in response?
Aside from a barrage of protests, I would learn how to perform abortions, safely, cleanly and at minimal cost, because you can make it illegal but that doesn't mean women still wouldn't try to have them.
3) How long do you think it will be until a woman is elected president of the U.S.A., and would they be that different from the men who've held that office?
I don't think I will see one in my lifetime. As progressive and 'politically correct' we think we are, women are still treated as second class citizens in the arena of power and clout. Of course a woman would be different, I'm not so arrogant of my sex to say that a woman would obviously be better, or worse, simply different.
4) Do you think women should be allowed to fight on the front line in combat?
Yes, we can't bitch about equality if we can't step up to the plate for things that are unpleasant. We want to be treated as equals, then that means across the board, not just when it suits us.
5) In your opinion, what TV character is the most positive female role model and why?
Samantha Jones from Sex in the City. I hate it when people say she acts like a man does, her attitudes about sex, power, money,relationships shouldn't be compared to how a guy thinks, its one life, one viewpoint that works for her and she is not ashamed of it. I'm nothing like her, I don't think I would want to be just like her, but the honesty and freedom is refreshing.

I work in a camera store and we have had a display of area photog's work up for almost a year now. One of the images, is soooo cool, it's a boat on a lake and the name of the boat is 'Row v. Wade' (you know 'row boat') and everyone at my store just loved this picture. We have people from our corporate office come in once a month for meetings, so they have seen it before and never had issue with it. A week ago some potential customer sent our corporate office and email to express concerns about our store. He was very upset that we 'pandered pornography openly', (he was referring to the arty, tasteful nude photography instruction books we sell, I assure you, these images won't be seen in Hustler, they are too discrete) and he was 'SHOCKED AND APPALLED by the joke being made against Roe V. Wade, which has cost the lives of millions of innocent unborn'. In response, my manager e-mail back an ass-kissing apology, begging for understanding and forgiveness at our slight and assured the man that not only would we pull the offensive publications, the picture was taken down immediately. I could have puked. So one jerk-off in a year spouts his narrow minded opinions and we bend over backwards to please his puritan tastes. I mean to hell with freedom of expression, we can't offend ONE POTENTIAL MONEY SPENDER! I asked my boss if this meant I had to start parking my car behind the building from now on, since I have PRO CHCE on my license plate and numerous Pro-Choice stickers on my car, I wouldn't want to offend anyone who might pull into our parking lot!
