Girl cross-dresses to get into an all-boys school and/or join a rock band for the sake of a man. Sound familiar? Sungkyunkwan Scandal has been likened to trendy dramas like Boys Over Flowers (for the boys) and You’re Beautiful (for the cross-dressing). I’d say the premise is typical—think Hana Kimi saeguk-style—but that’s not what SKK is all about. Although the drama’s ratings aren’t sky high, they’re steadily going up and I’ve got a strong feeling they’ll continue to do so. Why? Because SKK is too good a drama to pass up. It’s not reaching epic proportions for me yet but I’m pretty sure it’s headed there and I’m excited to be there when it happens. If you’re not watching SKK yet, there's no better time! You won't regret it. There are pretty boys, yes, but SKK is more than Song Joongki’s lovely face (and Yooh Ah In’s charisma—he was already awesome before this, but who knew he could do rough and sexy so well?). There’s so much to love about this drama. Let me start you off with seven reasons. You’ll find more as you watch the drama, I swear. Although Joongki's pretty boy face ain't unwelcome...mhhm.A few notes before we begin… ( The Premise and CharactersCollapse )Onto the list. Why should you watch SKK? Let me count the ways... ( In which I ramble forever with helpful screencapsCollapse )I apologize for my extremely long sentences. I am giddy, it's late, and I have work tomorrow. Just pretend you get the gist and watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal if you haven't already! That's the reason I made this giant post anyway.

Hey, I think I might be able to get behind you, OTP.Warning: Minor spoilers ahead.Guys, I take it back. Watch Heading to the Ground. Never mind that yucky opening scene in Episode 1. Episode 2 actually had me wanting to watch more. Now. ( So what happened that changed my mind?Collapse )Verdict: So what makes this drama worth watching? Simply put, it's charming. I can't even quite put my finger on it. It's so easygoing and well-paced and Yunho's so genuine (/dies, I can't find another word for it) that you can't help but grow fond of his character as it goes along. You want him to succeed, rofl. Once I got over Ah Ra's prettiness, I began to accept more of her character, as well. The drama's OTP has potential. Episode 2 is definitely a step-up from the HOMG AWKWARD first half of the drama's first episode and the preview promises more interesting developments. It's sweet, it's just the right amount of corny. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Yunho can't believe it, tooMinor Spoilers Ahead.Let's get one thing straight. I had low expectations of Heading to the Ground but I still didn't expect it to be this bad. Guys, I am a k-drama addict. You've seen me in action. I am the girl who sticks to dramas until the end despite them being boring or losing steam after a few episodes. It's like my code. If I start, I have to finish and I can't help hoping that somewhere along the way, if a drama sucks, it will try to redeem itself (sometimes, they do). ( It gets better...Collapse )Verdict: Half the audience probably switched channels after seeing the horrendous, low budget and very awkward opening scene (let's not even mention what it was, go see for yourself). But stick with it for at least thirty minutes more and you'll finally progress from cringing from secondhand embarrassment to watching with a twitching smile on your mouth. After resting my head, I rewatched the entire episode and realized it wasn't as bad as I thought it was (I think the opening scene stalled my brain for a while there). The preview for Episode 2 looks really interesting and made me feel all fluttery. I'm going to keep watching. I'm putting stock in the cast improving as a whole and, hopefully, Yunho will ease on the overacting a little (Yunho, just stop listening to the director and be more natural, okay). The ratings might look low (around 7, dropped to 5, I think) to some but it's a good steady start seeing what dramas it's up against (the other two are at around 14 each). (P.S. There are photos floating around of Yunho in hospital clothes at a shooting. They're saying it's a mental hospital. With his character in this drama, omigod, that might actually work for the better.;;)

When I'm sick, I like doing stuff. Here are icons that have accumulated over the past two months. There were a lot of Jaesu so I've declared this a mini-Jaesu special. A-and, here, have last minute wallie, too. I swear, that Jaesu pic, no matter how adorable it is, is so hard to use. /facepalm Very sorry for the massive phail on that. Oh well. I'll try again next time. To those who friended me for the Top 20 Asian Drama Actor List, don't worry, guys, I haven't forgotten. It's just I can't find enough pictures of Number 5 and so I keep putting it aside. I'll do my best to get back on track soon. Made these in a hurry just now because V-Day is just around the corner and I couldn't resist. I hope the glitter doesn't blind anyone. XD [29] GIF icons [29] DBSK*some of each member + general *pairing icons if you look at the fonts :P (explanation on post) Preview: ( Omo, the glitter!Collapse )Icon Requests OpenTaking requests for the glittery icons if by some freaky chance, anyone wants more. Just give me moar nicknames (I'm sure I missed a lot), even from other fandoms, and I'll see what I can do. Form below. Also, I want to make pairing icons but I can't quite think of text that would be fitting. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. No classes for me tomorrow. Oh, wow. I can rest.

Oh, hi. I'm still alive. Small batch. <.<; I saw the GQ scans and I had to icon a bit. Sorry for the lack of Yunho. Every time I cropped his pictures, it ended up looking weird. I also suddenly decided to use more brown along the way so some have a brownier, ah, tinge than the rest. I tried using textures for the GQ scans but I phail so I threw the rest away and just posted these two. I was going to icon more of the Bolero scans but I lost the motivation, hehe. I'll stop rambling now.
