Luckily, deactivating a plugin for WordPress websites is relatively easy, as there are two popular and convenient ways that you can do to perform the said task. Here are the simple tips for disabling or deactivating WordPress plugins.
Disabling Plugins on the WordPress Dashboard
The most common method that WordPress users utilize to deactivate plugins is to manually disable the plugins through the WordPress dashboard. To gain access to the dashboard, you simply have to log in to the administrator account of the WordPress website. If you don’t have access to the admin account, you can request permission from the original owner of the website for his or her username and password for the account. Log in to the admin account, and you will automatically be transferred to the WordPress dashboard.
After getting access to the dashboard, you would then need to click the “Plugins” button, which is located on the left side or corner of the screen or on the WordPress menu. Once you click the said button, you will then be moved to the Plugins page, where you will be greeted with a simple list of all the installed plugins on the WordPress website or casino roulette blog. For disabling a specific plugin, you can look for it using the search bar, and once the results show up, press the “Deactivate” button right below the name of the plugin. If you can’t really get access to the administrator account on the WordPress website, you have another option to disable plugins, and that is through a web hosting control panel program called cPanel. This software allows you to have a GUI or graphical interface that lets you edit or manage websites without the need to gain access to those websites’ administrator account.
To deactivate plugins using cPanel, you would first have to pay for the cPanel program through the company’s website. You can buy one of the packs that cPanel offers, and after buying a pack, you can then create an account and log it in for the first time. After logging in, you would have to find the “document_root” folder of the WordPress website that you have to edit. Once you find the said folder, you can select the “wp-content” folder” and then open the “plugins” folder.
On the plugins folder, you have two options to disable plugins: one is to disable one or more plugins or deactivate all plugins installed on the WordPress website. If you want to disable only one plugin, you would have to rename the plugin, and once it is renamed, it will automatically be deactivated. But if you want to disable all plugins, it is the plugins folder that you have to rename.And, those are just the two most common ways for you to disable or deactivate plugins on a WordPress site.
