Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service

The Voyager Scholarship is a two-year leadership development and scholarship program designed to support college students who have a passion for helping others, experience serving their community, and can demonstrate an expansive view of what’s possible through public service. Created by the Obamas and Brian Chesky, Co-Founder and CEO of Airbnb, the program provides up to $50,000 in “last-dollar” financial aid to help students pursue a career in public service and alleviate the impact of student debt.

In addition to scholarship funding, Voyagers participate in a Summer Voyage, an immersive work-travel experience supported by a $10,000 stipend and free housing in Airbnb listings (up to $4,200) to expose students to new communities across the globe. After graduation, students will receive $2,000 in Airbnb travel credit every year for 10 years, totaling $20,000.

Current college sophomores or community college transfer students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who plan to enroll full-time in their junior year of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States in Fall 2026 are encouraged to apply.

Online applications will be accepted through March 17, 2026.
