Meet Teresa, I Spy Spain Founder
An intrepid traveler with deep Spanish roots, Teresa grew up immersed in Spanish traditions, with her genealogy going back to Spain on both sides of her family. During Christmas and New Year at her Granddad’s house, you could count on a Spanish cod dish being on the dinner menu, and Spanish turron for dessert.
She has fond memories of her Grandpa taking out a porrón (a traditional glass wine pitcher),or a bota de vino (a wineskin), filling it up with red wine, and teaching the kids how to drink without spilling. What fun they had trying hard not to spill wine on their clothes, but if they were doing a good job, he’d tap the porrón slightly to make them miss. And, of course, grandma was there to scold him.
Tracing her family roots back to a tiny fishing village on the coast of Spain, Teresa loves to get off the regular tourist routes and immerse herself in the history and beauty of the country. She pours her love of Spain and her extensive, first-hand knowledge into creating the one-of-a-kind trips I Spy Spain is known for.
