The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation

Donating Done Differently

We encourage and support organisations capable of responding to social and ecological opportunities and challenges.
Making good trouble for impactful change

We are forthright, sincere and unapologetic. We donate, we advocate for charities and support them where gaps exist.

Hear From Our Partners

The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding for our First 1000 Days Together Initiative. This funding has helped our teams provide education to parents and direct people to resources. This has helped remove the barriers to getting help and provided safe, relaxed spaces for families to share their concerns and support them through the first 1000 days of a child’s life.
It is through partners such as the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation that allow the Making Waves Foundation to continue to provide opportunities to the local community. An as organisation that advocates for those living with disability or experiencing disadvantage, we feel the alignment of values between our organisation and the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation will deliver amazing outcomes in the near future.
Thank you for your generous support. With the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation’s backing, we will tackle the major barriers to scaling native grain use in Australia by designing and building smart mechanisation technology.
We are thrilled to receive funding from the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation to support our Story Hubs program. It’s a resounding endorsement of our mission to foster creativity and literacy in young minds across Melbourne’s west and beyond
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding for the development of the Raising Rarity School Outreach program. This funding means we will be able to engage several schools to develop and evaluate an effective and meaningful outreach program focused on students in Primary and Secondary educational settings. The outreach program will enable students across Victoria to engage directly in the conservation of Victorian threatened species.
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation provided us with essential seed funding to explore our idea of a mobile device repair technician training course. The funding allowed us to thoroughly research the concept and develop a strategic plan for how we could turn the idea into reality.
The funding we receive from the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation enables us to develop innovative literacy and teacher professional learning workshops, customised for each school’s unique needs, bringing us one step closer to making creative literacy a cornerstone of education for all.
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding for our Building Capacity Project. This means we will be able to expand our services and employ 3 team members who’ll be supporting women with a record to find meaningful and sustainable employment.
Arts-based education is a powerful tool for breaking down barriers, and with this funding from the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, we’ll expand our reach to disadvantaged schools, making sure every child has the opportunity to explore their creative potential.
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding for capacity building across our three branches, in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. This means we can expand our services in these locations and give more books to more people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding for LIVIN’s LIVINWell In School program. This is our flagship program that is delivered to schools for free right around the country. I am proud to say that we deliver more free and effective mental health education than any other charity.
We would like to thank the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation for their generous partnership with Soul, providing us with a 10-year rent free venue in the CBD.
The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation provides funding so we can expand our program into new geographic areas of the Hunter & Coast and implement additional programs through Neighbourhood Centres, Early Childhood Clinics and Schools to extend our reach to children outside the Case Worker model.
The Foundation also funds our entry into Newcastle where we are supporting ISNF partners by providing free books (including indigenous children’s books) and reading glasses to libraries we have installed in the Hunter Street building. Without ISNF support, much of our expansion in NSW, VIC and WA would not be possible.
