About the ISIT-BE

Digital technology has become a critical backbone of our organisations — but also a growing source of risk, dependency, and impact. In an era shaped by generative AI, geopolitical tensions, and accelerating digital use, it is essential to rethink our systems to make them more responsible, more resilient, and more sovereign.

The Belgian Institute for Sustainable IT (ISIT-BE) supports organisations across Belgium in this transformation. Our mission is to turn digital services into a driver of sustainable performance by addressing key challenges such as Responsible AI, digital resilience and sovereignty, Green IT, accessibility, ethics, and well-being.

We help companies, public institutions, and educational organisations move from ambition to action. Concretely, we provide our members with guides, tools, training, workshops, and peer insights to better manage their impacts, reduce technological dependencies, and strengthen the robustness of their digital systems.

Beyond operational support, we actively contribute to public awareness and policy discussions, working alongside public authorities, academia, and the broader ecosystem. Because the challenges of sustainable digital extend far beyond organisations — they affect society as a whole.
