Therefore, when really striving for peace, we need to think of ways out of this militarization-violence-spiral. We need to think of ways to re-allocate the money to other fields. To name just a few possibilities, this money could be spent on social and humanitarian projects. It could be spent to foster social justice, feed the hungry and mitigate the climate change. It could be spent to bring about real social change. With the IPB World Congress, a strong sign for change will be set. Different ideas will be discussed with a large international audience. An Action Agenda for Peace will be presented and passed at the end of the Congress. It shall help to bring about a culture of peace our world can really grow from.
