The Iowa SILC is a 501(c)3 non-profit, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. Please consult your tax person on allowable tax deductions.

Iowa SILC is a working council on Independent Living’s mission of leadership, empowerment, and advocacy. Our primary purpose is to jointly develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the 3-year Statewide Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). The Independent Living movement strives to achieve a world where people with disabilities can expect and enjoy equal choices and opportunities to work, play, lead, and live freely in their community.

United Way of Central Iowa

The Iowa SILC is an approved non-profit with the United Way of Central Iowa. If your employer has a United Way Campaign with the United Way of Central Iowa, you can donate to the SILC through your employer’s United Way Campaign. If your employer doesn’t have one, you can learn how to set up a campaign.
