ISP Professional Training Admission Requirements
ISP is an ideal complementary somatic training for therapists in any modality looking for an easy-to-learn somatic approach to harness the power of the body to improve outcomes and treatment times in their work, whether you are working with trauma or other experiences in your clients.
ISP is also an ideal complementary post-graduate training for practitioners of all body psychotherapy modalities, including Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, etc.
If you are a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, marriage and family therapist, counselor, art, movement or breath therapist, coach, bodyworker, energy worker, psychology trainer or educator, clergy, meditation or spiritual teacher, you will find the training valuable for improving outcomes and treatment times in your practice, provided your work also involves psychological processing.
If you are unsure whether your present work involves adequate psychological processing to benefit most from ISP, please write to info@integralsomaticpsychology.com with a brief description of your professional background for clarification.
Upon registering, please describe your professional background in the application.
Certification Requirements
The ISP Practitioner Certificate is awarded to those who have completed the twelve days of in-person or live online training, 6 hours of personal sessions, and 6 hours of case consultations from approved ISP providers. It is also required that you do at least two of the three modules live (live online or in person) to be eligible for certification.
If you missed the first live training module you can join the Integral Somatic Psychology™ Professional Training live from module 2 after completing module one by video. You can also do module 2 or 3 on video. Please note that you have the option to take only one of three training modules on video.
Those taking any module on video have to do three active coaching sessions online to make up for the three specific practice sessions for that module. In these active coaching sessions, an approved assistant or assistants will actively coach and supervise the students as they practice the missed practice sessions.
In North America, the price of the three active coaching sessions is covered by the tuition paid for the module. In other places, the module price is discounted by one-third so that you can pay for the three active coaching sessions yourself.
Assisting Requirements
In order to apply to become an assistant in live online or in-person Integral Somatic Psychology trainings and workshops, you need to be certified as an ISP Practitioner. Additional requirements might have to be met to assist, on a case-by-case basis.
Integral Somatic Psychology is neither a regulatory nor licensing organization and therefore not sanctioned to certify, license, or otherwise bestow the legal authorization to practice as a mental health professional.
