I’m sure I’m the only one who read, “every job is a women’s job” meaning you just get to do it all? ALL the work is yours! If there is any work to be done, you better get on that!
Along with owning all the jobs and being totally responsible for any work that must get done, everything that might go wrong is also going to be totally your fault.
See a pile of dog poop on the floor? Welp, any job is a woman’s job. Garbage need taking out? Any job is a woman’s job. Is somebody around you hungry? Well, there you go, it’s your job to fix it.
Men around you not doing their job? Well there you go, you better work twice as hard and cover for them….
All this to say, just defund the UN already. People actually get paid to post crap like this.
Of course then you have this nutcase, bloviating his own nihilistic advice on human relationships. He’s talking about wives. Marriage. I can’t even imagine telling my husband, hey dude, not my problem, I don’t owe you a better life. Wow, that’s just so weird and self absorbed. One of the purposes of marriage is to make each others lives better. We may not be very good at it, but at least that is somewhat the end goal.
In fact, to some extent we can take this out into the world of complete strangers. Our purpose, our goal in the world is to improve the lives of others. It might be small, a smile, a wave, a bit of kindness, but I can’t even imagine just brushing past people and smugly declaring, sucks to be you, I don’t owe you a better life.
Which brings me to this pendulum between the left and right, between feminists and anti-feminists. I can’t abide second wave feminism, but you know what? There are these complete nutcases in the world who demonstrate everyday why such things were necessary. It’s kind of like stumbling into a thread full of cage stage Calvinists who seem to believe their job is to……glorify in their new found woman hatred. I kid you not. It is unbelievably vile and full of four letter words from those who allege to follow Christ.
Well heck, I’ve had a few of them land right here on my blog, so that’s no secret.
Anyway, I reject all these false dichotomies and refuse to pick sides in a rigged game of stupidity. Y’all are both wrong, both miserable, and the world is a beautiful place full of nuance and complexity.

Extremes are always wrong and almost always unhelpful. If we could just as a race of beings get back to that place, you talked about where we are living to make each other‘s lives a little bit better…. Wow that would change the world!

Good point about how extremes are almost never helpful. That’s one of the issues in the modern world culturally, everything is an extreme and then, “you’re with us or you’re against us.”

The “us or them” mentality is so destructive and I shudder every time I hear it coming from Christian lips. The one thing that extremes are valuable for is to show where the lack is in the hearts that express the extremes. Knowing that can sometimes give a person an idea about how to minister to the real need (which almost never the thing the extremist thinks it is).

‘Any job is a womans job’. The longest single word anagram is ‘nanosomia’ which means the state of beling a dwarf. Mmm, perhaps they are trying to make women small? UN Women made me think ‘unwomen’ as in make women not women. That would explain some of what’s going on.
The phrase ‘Any job is a womans job’ contains ‘boobs’, ‘bosoms’, and ‘wombs’, hence the full phrase ‘Baby son Jojo mania sw’.
But it also contains ‘ninjas’ and this phrase ‘Ajay boos ninjas womb’. Lara Croft womb raider eat your heart out!
Or if you prefer ‘join Amway banjo boss.’ That’s multitasking for you. 🙂

I too saw that “unwoman.” Very funny. If you’re going to insist on doing all the work, you will certainly unravel sooner rather than later.

Liars to the left of me, liars to the right, I’m caught in the middle, when I protest, they accuse me of lying. What a profession! People actually are on the payroll to peddle lies?
Then they get promoted to an elevated liars Chair. Also DEI should be changed to LIE. Yeah, women built the Empire state building back in the day walking on beams in the sky without harnesses, that was the gals job right? And clearing sewage pipes in -30 deg, yep, all women.
And men breast feed…….. that’s their job.

Ha! Many people have no idea what a complete wreck DEI is. Older women have gotten especially mowed over by it, actually booted out after 20 years in favor of someone who meets the politically correct standard. Then there is of course, “Woman of the Year,” a title no longer granted to anyone actually born one.

Of course, we oldsters probably all know what they probably meant, and that they were responding to that old-style gender division of labor line of thinking that went: Being a nurse is a woman’s job, and being a doctor is a man’s job. Being an elementary school teacher is a woman’s job, and being a college professor is a man’s job. Being a fact-checker is a woman’s job, and being a journalist is a man’s job. But maybe they are a little late in their response, as maybe not that many people think that way any more …

Well, what triggered my mindless thought was your last sentence in the post. So.. there is a tinsey bit of relevancy. As for the Trump/Biden reference.. I was just wrapped in the moment of watching our Dear Leader… um, lead. So, yeah.. that was more a spontaneous add-on blurb. Trauma comes in many forms.

I don’t have time to play with anagrams right now (or ever), but I did want to share with you a quote that I saw recently that I loved: “Woman were not created to do all the things a man can do. She was created to do all the things men can’t do.” The essay that followed was about the unique role and dignity of women. The photo was of a woman in a long, white cotton dress, walking barefoot down a dirt road, and a lioness walking beside her. (I don’t know if I described it adequately, but I thought it was beautiful.)
