About Inon

EMMY award-winner and multi-BAFTA-nominated composer Inon Zur is recognized as one of the most innovative and successful composers in media today, internationally renowned for his emotionally dynamic original music scores for popular video game franchises including FALLOUT, STARFIELD, DRAGON AGE, PRINCE OF PERSIA, RISE OF THE RŌNIN and THE ELDER SCROLLS. Classically trained with a flair for powerful, melodic orchestral writing, Inon conducts and records the world’s most prestigious orchestras on the top scoring stages and recording studios (Abbey Road, Fox, Sony, Warner Bros.) as well as performing his music in symphonic concerts worldwide, from The Hollywood Bowl to Royal Albert Hall, and beyond.

Described as ‘Legendary’ (BBC), ‘Sophisticated and atmospheric’ (Classic FM), Inon’s iconic themes and avant-garde scores for the FALLOUT video game series have become synonymous with the franchise, receiving several nominations for FALLOUT 3 and FALLOUT 4 from BAFTA and The Game Awards. Zur’s original scores for FALLOUT 76 (2018 to present) have also received special praise, hailed by critics as “An amazing ambient soundtrack” (Kotaku) and “The best soundtrack for the series yet” (Game Informer). Beyond the games, Zur’s emotional FALLOUT theme, with its instantly recognizable motif and unmistakable otherworldly soundscape, is a fan favorite in concert halls and features in Amazon’s TV series adaptation.

Inon’s majestic space symphony for the space exploration role playing game, STARFIELD, debuted as a concert suite recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and was selected for The Game Awards 10th anniversary concert performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, while Bethesda’s full-length concert ‘STARFIELD: A Night With The London Symphony Orchestra’ heralded the game’s launch with Inon as guest conductor. The score was lauded by music and culture critics (“Instant classic” – The Guardian; “The year’s best video game score…one of the best sci-fi scores ever created” – NME) and Inon was honored with the inaugural BMI Video Game Award at the 40th Annual BMI Film, TV and Visual Media Awards.

Zur composed over five hours of original score for STARFIELD, encompassing a classical symphonic palette, to echo the grandeur and mystery of space, together with crafted, organic electronic synth sounds, comprising minimalist elements from the environment, to build the soundscape of this epic sci-fi adventure. His philosophy was to encapsulate the contrast between the vastness of space and the human individual as the main drive for the score, whereby the music conjures emotions to reflect the mystery and new revelations of infinite outer space. Composition-wise, through live symphonic movements and electronic music suites, Zur created a STARFIELD musical universe with sonic shapes, harmonious and non-dissonant, that evoke a combination of human emotions but most of all curiosity of the unknown. The creative process started with a conceptual piece written very early on and was the foundation for STARFIELD’s signature theme featuring a six-note motif from which the score evolved.

Inon also collaborated with the GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band IMAGINE DRAGONS to create the anthem CHILDREN OF THE SKY (A STARFIELD SONG), crafting the STARFIELD motif into the song as well as iconic elements from the Main Theme (‘Into The Starfield’) and the STARFIELD orchestral treatment. Making interstellar history, the song was even broadcast to the moon in a groundbreaking space mission.

Zur’s rich portfolio spans epic action/adventure genres and ethereal fantasy scores for numerous other blockbuster entertainment properties including multiple entries in the PRINCE OF PERSIA series, THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR IN THE NORTH (Classical MPR Best Video Game Soundtrack), DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS (Forbes’ ‘Top Video Game Soundtracks of All Time’), DRAGON AGE II (‘Best Original Video Game Score’ from Movie Music Awards UK), EAGLE FLIGHT (Classic FM‘s Top Ten Video Game Soundtracks), ICEWIND DALE II (G.AN.G. Music of the Year Nominee) and BALDUR’S GATE II: THRONE OF BHAAL (G4TV Top 10 Soundtracks). He collaborated with FLORENCE + THE MACHINE on DRAGON AGE II’s ‘Varric’s Theme and his debut major label album release with Sony Masterworks, Into The Storm, was selected among Classical KUSC’s best albums of that year. For one of his most intimate and personal scores, Inon composed the classical scores for the late, celebrated artist/writer Benoît Sokal’s beloved SYBERIA series, featuring solo performances by GRAMMY® award-winning virtuoso pianist Emily Bear.

In a one-of-its-kind collaboration with DISNEY and HARMONIX (of GUITAR HERO fame) Inon composed, conducted and produced the original orchestral themes for DISNEY’s FANTASIA: MUSIC EVOLVED, the groundbreaking musical motion video game inspired by Walt Disney’s classic animated film FANTASIA.  Zur’s original score for FANTASIA: MUSIC EVOLVED was BAFTA-nominated and honored among the honorees of Classic FM’s ‘The Best Video Game Music of the Year’. In addition to composing the original instrumental score, Zur produced the orchestral arrangement of QUEEN’s operatic rock classic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ as well as collaborating with Harmonix and Disney to produce innovative new recordings of classical masterpieces by Bach, Dvořák, Liszt, Mozart, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi.

Most recently, Zur scored Sony’s RISE OF THE RŌNIN, an epic open-world action role playing game set in late 19th century Japan during Bakumatsu, the final years of the Edo period. Zur drew inspiration for the score from the title’s historical setting, combining Japanese instruments and soloists with a more traditional orchestra to infuse the music with a sound authentic to the game’s storyline. Developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, RISE OF THE RŌNIN is available exclusively for PlayStation 5 and the original soundtrack was released on Milan Records through Sony Music. Inon’s original score went on to receive ‘Best Traditional Sound’ at the 2024 PlayStation Game Music Awards in Japan.

In addition to his best known, prolific work in video games, Inon has provided critically acclaimed scores for film and television including the EMMY-winning documentary SABER ROCK as featured on CNN and the suspense-thriller RECLAIM for Lionsgate.  The film’s score was released by Silva Screen Records, resonating with audiences to wide appeal; “Zur’s music for Reclaim perfectly captures the human drama of the film’s story in powerful and deeply emotional fashion.” – Film Score Monthly. Previously Zur also scored the animated TV shows POWER RANGERS, DIGIMON and ESCAFLOWNE as well as the FOX Family movies AU PAIR and AU PAIR II, which debuted with the most viewers in the network’s TV movie history.

In 2025, Inon continued his collaboration with IMAGINE DRAGONS to conduct the live debut of the STARFIELD song ‘Children of the Sky’ as well as performing all their hits accompanied by orchestral arrangements Inon created for a special filmed concert, IMAGINE DRAGONS: LIVE FROM THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL (with the LA Film Orchestra). Released to over 3,000 cinemas worldwide courtesy of Trafalgar Releasing and Interscope Films, this special big-screen event captured the band’s record-breaking residency and electrifying conclusion to the North American leg of their LOOM World Tour in Fall 2024. The nearly two-hour concert, performed during the final night of a four-night residency that drew over 67,000 fans, documents Inon’s reimagined symphonic arrangements of IMAGINE DRAGONS staples like ‘Radioactive,’ ‘Demons,’ and ‘Believer,’ performed alongside the world-renowned LA Film Orchestra. The spectacular night ended with a grand fireworks crescendo and surprise finale, fusing the band’s explosive sound with intricate, symphonic arrangements by Inon brought to life by the famed orchestra. Due to overwhelming demand the concert film furthermore received a worldwide streaming event in November 2025, presented by Mercury Studios and Interscope Films.
