TAILORED SOLUTIONS, DESIGNED TO MAXIMIZE RESULTS

INGECID has developed the comprehensive BIM management of the Bilbao Metropolitan Southern Bypass Infrastructure and has led BIM management in one of the two superstructure lots. The VSM is a key infrastructure for improving mobility in the metropolitan area. The project encompassed the digital coordination of three independent infrastructure actions —sections 9A, 9B1, and 9B2— through a unified approach based on BIM methodology and managed in the VIRCORE CDE.

The objective of the project is to reorder the BI-4342 road between its PK 17+520 and 17+900, in order to adapt this road section to the new needs arising from future industrial developments. Among the actions included, it is worth highlighting the construction of a section of the Ibaizabal cycle path, which partly runs alongside the BI-4342 road, and the replacement of part of the facilities at the Boroa toll plaza, adding one more lane to the existing ones.

As part of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility’s advancements in the digitalization of its construction processes, INGECID is leading a pioneering pilot experience for implementing BIM methodology in the field of infrastructures, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Roads (DGC).
