How it works

01

Planning support
Planning

for effective tool planning

The production planning always knows which tool can be used for which component on which machine and configures the 3D tool models for simulation.

02

Workshop

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Where is my ToolPal hosted?

CIMSOURCE typically uses a German provider, unless otherwise agreed. Your ToolPal will be hosted in a data center in Germany.

What are the drawbacks of 'On Premise'?

The ramp-up, ongoing maintenance, and seamless scaling of computing power are advantages of the cloud. When ToolPal is installed in an internal network behind your firewall, the installation and maintenance effort increases due to the necessary coordination of access.

How long does the ramp-up of ToolPal take?

With the cloud version, you can start immediately. The bottleneck is always the setup of the tool database. Here, you have significant support with the integrated access to ToolsUnited.

Can I import my data into ToolPal via batch import?

Yes, this is possible for all master data, such as tool components, work plans, parts, and machine tools. It is important that the data is structured in advance. For tool data, CIMSOURCE provides tools and checkers for this purpose.

How does the integration of ToolsUnited work?

The data model of ToolPal is identical to that of ToolsUnited. With a simple 'toggle' switch, you can switch between your own data and the ToolsUnited database in ToolPal. Using 'drag-and-drop,' you can transfer tools from ToolsUnited into your inventory.

Is ToolPal easy to integrate into our existing systems?

ToolPal is designed to seamlessly integrate into existing production environments. There are standard interfaces available for many inventory, CAM, and setting systems. Our team supports you with implementation and customization to meet your specific requirements.

What training or support services does CIMSOURCE offer for ToolPal?

CIMSOURCE offers comprehensive training and support services to ensure that your team can use ToolPal effectively. We provide both initial training and ongoing support and maintenance.

How can I get to know ToolPal?

Study this landing page and watch the videos, then attend one of our webinars. After that, you can use a test account. We recommend a 2-day training session to set up example data from your actual operations.

What does the licensing model look like?

Your ToolPal license is based on the number of CNC machines that need to be supported and the range of functions you require. The number of users is unlimited.

How does the supplier integration work?

If your tool suppliers provide data in the standard format, it's no problem. To ensure your suppliers know exactly what is required, you can use ToolLink (additional license required, see also info.toollink.de).

How do I set up ToolPal?

Setting up ToolPal is quick and easy. Here are the steps:
1. Design the warehouse structure: Define the storage locations for your tools.
2. Create or upload tool components: Enter these manually or by uploading a file.
3. Create or upload complete tools: Use manual entry or Excel import.
4. Create machines: Add your machines.
Optional: Create or upload production layout and measuring equipment/fixtures.

What are the terms of use?

With the operational deployment of ToolPal, the usage rights are valid for one year with automatic contract renewal (test accounts by arrangement). Termination is possible 90 days before the end of the term. License fees are due in advance for each year.
