Welcome to the IMTA
The national association representing and supporting Maths Teachers in second level schools in Ireland
We organise CPD meetings for teachers, a range of competitions for schools and students at 1st year, Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate levels. We also represent maths teachers on the NCCA syllabus committees giving a mathematical voice in all planning. We have branches in all corners of the country where you can meet and discuss mathematics and education with like minded peers.
Pi Quiz Regional Round 2026
The Regional round of the IMTA Pi Quiz is on Tuesday March 24th 2026.
The quiz will start at 11am, and schools should aim to be seated by 10.45 to ensure a prompt start.
Students should bring their own Formula and Tables book, have a pen and a calculator.
The quiz should take max 2 hours to complete, but hopefully it will all be done by 12.45, depending on tiebreaks.
Schools should have received an email from the host school by now. Please contact us if not.
The Finals for both Team Maths 2026 and Pi Quiz 2026 will be held on Saturday 25th April in the Midlands Park Hotel.
