Am I a Mac user?

It was some time ago when I used an Apple II. I was working on a program using Pascal language. I remember that tasks would take forever to process. I would hit a key to start compiling and then the screen would pop up a dot, then another, and another… it was a sign that the program was executing. I would leave the lab, go to the cafeteria, have some lunch and then come back to see  if the process had finished. Even though it sounds like  it took a lot of time (which it did) it was much faster than using an IBM XT PC.

Apple II wasn’t that pretty looking. It was sort of a rectangular box with a keyboard included and on top of that two pairs of metallic boxes where you would insert your floppies. The one on the left to load your operating system and programs, the one on the right to save your work. 

Time came to work with graphics, and so came the first Macintosh. It was a weird looking computer. I always called it the “shoe box”, because it was what it looked like. A plain shoe box with a screen on the upper side and a disk slot down on the right side. It worked darn fast! It had two processors, one for handling graphics and another for managing processing. 

I was hit with another great product years later, the iPod Touch 10GB. I never ran out of space for my music, never.
