What is ImpactX?
ImpactX will be a virtual hackathon hosted by Code4Hope, a non-profit committed to empowering young innovators to solve global challenges using technology. Impact X will take place during the weekend of December 13th, 2025. View the schedule on the right side for important dates and times.
As a participant, you will be required to develop a project that solves a problem in the fields of sustainability, education, finance, or health and wellness.
For more information and updates, make sure to join our Discord server and check out the Code4Hope website.
Theme: Creativity and UI/UX Design
For the first, time ImpactX'25 will have a general theme that will be part of the judging rubric for ALL projects. This years theme will be Creativity and UI/UX Design.
Creativity and UI UX Design focuses on how thoughtfully a product is designed, not the complexity of its technology. Judges will evaluate how effectively teams translate an idea into a clear, intuitive, and polished user experience.
In many hackathon projects, UI and UX receive little attention, which leads to products that function technically but break down once real users interact with them. This theme exists to correct that. Projects should reflect intentional design decisions across layout, visual hierarchy, interaction flow, and consistency. Animations, transitions, microinteractions, and feedback states should serve a purpose and make the project easier to use, while not distracting from core functionality. Each screen or page should feel connected.
This theme rewards production-level thinking. Strong submissions feel complete, cohesive, and usable by real users, so make sure you develop with this in mind.
