Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Impact Pro Construction.

Do I need to move out of my home during the renovation?
For most projects, such as kitchen remodels, bathroom updates, or deck construction, you can absolutely stay in your home. We understand that your home is your sanctuary, so we take aggressive measures to minimize disruption. We install heavy-duty dust barriers (“zip walls”) to seal off the construction zone and protect your air quality. However, for whole-home renovations or flooring projects involving the entire main level, we might recommend temporary relocation for a few days during the most intensive phases (like demolition or floor staining) for your comfort and safety.
In the the Bay Area, especially with older homes, opening a wall can sometimes reveal surprises. If we discover hidden damage (like dry rot behind a deck or outdated wiring), we stop immediately and document the issue with photos. We then present you with a clear, written Change Order detailing the problem and the cost to fix it. We never proceed with unapproved work or bill you for surprise costs. You remain in control of the budget at every step.
We do. Part of our “Heavy Lifting” phase (Step 3) is managing the relationship with city officials. Whether it’s a framing inspection for a new addition in San Mateo or a final electrical sign-off in Marin, our Project Manager schedules the appointments and meets the inspectors on-site. We ensure all work passes code before moving to the next phase, so you never have to worry about the technical compliance of your project.
You will be assigned a dedicated Project Manager who acts as your single point of contact throughout the entire process. While our skilled crew is friendly and approachable, your Project Manager is responsible for the “big picture”—handling the schedule, material deliveries, and communication. You will receive regular updates from them, ensuring you always know what was completed this week and what is scheduled for next week.
