God, it's been forever since I've updated here. (Long enough that I've gotten a new LJ name, even.) I've been sort of out of it for a while, and unfortunately, I haven't been making too many icons. The few I have made, I'm posting. Also, I'm trying out the hosting services of TinyPic, so we'll see how this goes. :) I apologize in advance because these aren't my best, buuuut.. I've been a bit busy and a lot out of inspiration as of late, but I managed to make a cople things worth sharing. Behind the cut are some textless Lost icons (January11thJanuary11thohgod), some X-Men icons I made for contests and the like, and a couple random Final Fantasy 8 ones. Textless does not mean base icon, please don't hotlink, and so on and so forth. ♥

also note: I'm an asshole and an idiot, and I deleted every single one of my images hosted on livejournal. That means those light textures are down indefinitely. Hair color tutorial -- Color changing.
I wrote this tutorial for people who role-play mostly, and use played-bys (avatars) of characters who have odd colored hair, and who would like a more realistic way to achieve whatever it is they're looking for. (Red, green, purple, etc.) This is by no means a definitive guide, just the way I do things. I find that this method is a bit more realistic than the usual "put a color on a new soft light/hue/color layer and call it a day" method.That said, on to the tutorial! ( ...Collapse )
