Help please :)

Hi I'm sorry, I know this is an icon tutorial thread and this isn't an icon, but I don't know where else to post it. I am trying to make a banner that looks like this. And so I made a banner and selected what I wanted to be still seen, inverted it, feathered it to 20 (or whatever its called)and it came out alright. Copied and pasted it into Animation shop to try and save it so that the background is still all cool and semitransparent but when I do it turns brown. What am I doing wrong? Here's the banner if you want to test it out for yourself. Also...all my fonts come out really pixelly. What I can I do to fix that? Thanks for help in advance :)
