Full Icon Tutorial for PS7
Huzzah! I finally made an icon tutorial. In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make this icon:

Please note that I am using PS7 to make this.
Hello fellow icon-makers, I bring to you my first tutorial! Nothing too hard, but you should have a basic knowledge of layers and blending modes.
First, I started with this base:

Make a copy of the base by clicking Layer>Duplicate layer. Set this new layer to Overlay at an opacity of 62% and sharpen it just once.
This should be what you have so far:

Next, make a new layer and fill it with this gradient:

Set this layer to soft light at 79% opacity.
Now make a new, blank layer. Fill this with #0E363E and set it to Exclusion. Then create another blank layer, this time fill it with #000000 and set it to Color with an opacity of 27%.
This should be the result:

Finally, add another blank layer to be filled with a gradient. This time I used this one and set it to linear dodge:

This should be what it looks like:

Now for the goodies:
Under the linear dodge layer I created a blank layer to add text. I typed in CHOSEN with the following settings: font=Georgia, size=8.33pt, color=#B89475, drop shadow color=#433124 (at 75% opacity).
Under the text layer, I added this brush border (with the color set #BB8E63 and the layer set to Screen @ 58%):

Put it all together and...tadaaa!

Please note that this wont work exactly the same for all bases. Also, this tutorial is a guide, use it to make your own unique icons. If you'd like to use the icon in this tutorial please leave a comment letting me know and credit me (lunacat).
Til next time.
