PSP7 Tutorial

First tutorial! Go easy on meh! I made this in PSP7, so I'm not sure if a few of the steps work in other programs...

Okey, we'll be going from thisImage hosted by Photobucket.com to thisImage hosted by Photobucket.com

1.Alright. We start off with this. I made the cap and cropped to 100x100.

2.Then, I sharpened it and duplicated the layer. I set the duplicate to screen, and then merged the layers. Then, go to Effects -> Enhance Photo -> Contrast Enhancement. Select darker, normal and bold. Duplicate again, set to screen, and merge layers. Do the contrast enhancement again. You get this:

3. Time to add some spice. I took another picture and added it into the icon.

Do the same thing for this image that you did for the icon in step 2. I screened and sharpened once instead of twice here, though. You end up with this.

4.After you get the smaller image finished, paste it into the icon. I set it to the left side. Notice that it's smaller than half of the icon. I didn't want it to take up all the space.

5.Add a border. I made one. I didn't make it go all around the icon. It makes it looks more artistic this way. (to me, anyways..):

6. Create a new raster layer, and fill with this gradient at burn. 50% opacity.

7. Create another layer on top of that. Same gradient but at multiply, 80% opacity.

8. Add text, (I used Arial bolded size 18 for frozen, and georgia size one for the tiny) And you're finished! :)

Umm... I'm not the best at explaining things, so if you didn't understand something, just ask me :) You could show me what you've done if you like. It'd help me out loads to see what I can do to make the icons better!
