Photoshop Elements Tutorial (coloring)
Coloring tut for this:
aaaaaaaand
coloring/placements for this:
Compatible with PS and PSP :)
I originally meant to do a tutorial for the "tug" icon, but couldn't be arsed to make a step-by-step description of all the weird stuff I did to get it to look the way it does, so here we are with a different pic :)
1. Base - already lightened, sharpened, etc.

2. Exclusion at 100%

3. Multiply at 40%

4. Lighten at 50%

5. Screen at 100%

6. Soft Light at 100%
(simply duplicate and drag to top)
7. Soft Light at 100%
(it's actually black to transparent, but this'll work just as well)
8. Soft Light at 100%
(again, duplicate base and drag to top)
9. Normal at 100% - copy merge (shift+ctrl+c) what you've got so far and paste into a new image, with the rectangular marquee tool select the part you want to use then crop, resize if needed (same for sharpening) then select and copy all (ctrl+a then ctrl+c) and paste on your original icon on a new layer
10. Normal at 100% - select a square brush (I used 4px) and, in white, draw a border around the little pic, then along the edges of the entire icon. You may want to make a side thicker for the text later (you don't have to :)
11. Normal at 100% - tiny text is Verdana size 1.5, with a space between each letter (Elements isn't very creative with text *sob*)
12. Normal at 100% - the exes, also Verdana size 10, no spaces.
Done? Done :)
Tip: for the second duplicate of the base, instead of soft light you can set it to hard light or overlay for a more vibrant color effect.

Feedback would be appreciated.
