Tutorial #10

how to make this: Image hosted by Photobucket.com or this: Image hosted by Photobucket.com or Image hosted by Photobucket.com

First we crop the image into a nice little 100x100 image, like so:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then you add a dark blue layer, set to exclusion:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com + Image hosted by Photobucket.com = Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then you add the following gradient set to screen at 100%:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+Image hosted by Photobucket.com=Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then you add another gradient, set to color at 30% opacity:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+Image hosted by Photobucket.com=Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then you add yet another gradient, this one at color,31% opacity:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+Image hosted by Photobucket.com=Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Add the next gradient at multiply, 35%:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+Image hosted by Photobucket.com=Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And time for the last gradient! (It is the last, I swear!) Set it to saturation, 39%:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+Image hosted by Photobucket.com=Image hosted by Photobucket.com

add text and you're done!

To get the effect in the second one,

Image hosted by Photobucket.com is set to overlay,47%

Image hosted by Photobucket.com stays at color,31%

Image hosted by Photobucket.com stays at screen,100%

and the last two gradients are left out.

to get the effect of the last version,

Image hosted by Photobucket.com is set to multiply,12%

Image hosted by Photobucket.com is set to screen at 28% opacity

and

Image hosted by Photobucket.com is set to color,31% opacity.

**if you play around with blend modes and opacity, you can get differnt effects.
