Tutorial #6:Ramses the great
PLEASE do not copy this icon. If you want this icon, it is available here. And now, with that said,
Since there are so many layers, I will post a cap of my layers window first, and if you want to, you can refer back to it.

Okay. First thing i did was take my picture and crop it. From the one picture, i make two bases:
and
I duplicated the second base twice. I desaturated the backround layer, and set the copy to overlay. I took the other base (arms) and pasted it on top. I duplicated this layer six times (there should be seven of these layers). Desaturate the original "arms" layer. Do not change the opacity or blend mode. Set the blend mode of the first copy to overlay, and all of the copy layers above it desaturate. Set the first desaturated layer to screen, and the others above the desaturated screen level set to darken. Then I went back to the color "arms" layer and duplicated that. I dragged that layer ontop of all the desaturated ones, and set it to color,100%.
Next, I added a new layer, and flood-filled it with (#11022F) and set it to (*suprise!*) exclusion.
Then i went way back to the background layer (Ramses's face) and duplicated it. I dragged that layer to the top, and set it to sceen,100%.I duplicated this layer, and set the duplicate to hard light. Since this was too dark, and you couldn't see the arms layer at all, i erased everything on the top layer, except his face.
Next, i went to layer>new adjustment layer>gradient map. I wish i could show the exact gradient map, but this is the best i can do:

I set the gradient map to overlay, and then duplicated it. I set the duplicate gradient map to multiply.
Then I added this brush as the border:

I set the border layer to color-burn, added text and it's done! Feel free to show me anything you've made, and/or ask questions, but as i'm said before, please don't copy. If you use this tutorial to make *this* icon, it doesn't make it yours...
