Two in one!
I've been meaning to write more tutorials, but the first ones i wanted to write tutorials for i couldn't open so it showed all the layers (i saved it as .psd)...But finally, here's two more.
how to make this:
&
**please do not copy the icons. That's not the purpose for the tutorial. So, with that said,
how to make this:

First i resized the image (CTRL+T),then flattened the layers.

Then I duplicated the background once, and made a blue (0E0230) exclusion layer inbetween the two layers.
After that, desature your background and set the copy to overlay. At this point you should have something like this:

Next add the following gradient on color at 100% opacity:
+
=
I added text, then the following brush on a new layer, blend mode normal, opacity 100%
+
and you're done!
how to make this:

first you crop/resize your image:

Then duplicate your layer twice. Desaturate the backgound layer (image>adjustments>desaturate or SHIFT+CTRL+U) Set the first duplicate (background copy) to screen, the second to soft light. Leave the opacity of all layers so far at 100%.

Then add the following gradient, set at color, opacity 35%.
+
=
Then I added the following brush on multiply,100%.
+
=
I added my text, then went to layers>layer style>blending options. I set Dream to drop-shadow and outer glow. I set just like a to outer glow, blend mode to multiply, and you're done!
