International Commission on Missing Persons

Accounting for the Missing
is an Investment in Peace

ICMP works with governments, civil society organizations, justice institutions, international organizations, and others throughout the world to address the issue of people who have gone missing as a result of armed conflict, human rights abuses, disasters, organized crime, migration and other causes.

What We Do

ICMP’s programs are designed to assist states in their efforts to meet their obligations regarding missing and disappeared persons.

The Missing

A missing person is anyone whose whereabouts are not known and who is being sought by another person or other persons.

Where We Work

ICMP has been active in some 40 countries that have faced large numbers of missing persons as a result of natural and man-made disasters, wars, widespread human rights abuses, organized crime and other causes.
