What is a regulatory representative service?
A regulatory representative is a legal requirement for foreign manufacturers who sell products in specific regions. The representative acts as a local point of contact, ensures compliance documentation is maintained, and responds to authority inquiries or audits.
Do I need an FCC Agent even if I use a lab?
Yes. Labs and TCBs cannot act as your U.S. Agent. Per FCC 22-84, foreign manufacturers must appoint a U.S. Agent listed in the grant record via an attestation letter.
What’s the difference between FCC SDoC and 22-84?
FCC 22-84 applies to certifications where the FCC requires a U.S. Agent for foreign manufacturers. FCC SDoC is specific to unintentional radiators (e.g., IT devices) and requires a Responsible Party who holds test reports and responds to the FCC.
Is a CE Authorised Representative mandatory?
Yes, for most CE-marked products. If the manufacturer is based outside the EU, an Authorised Representative is legally required to hold technical files and respond to EU market surveillance.
How long are your services valid?
Depending on the option selected, validity ranges from single-model lifetime coverage to unlimited models for 1, 3, or 5 years. Some services like Canadian ISED Option A are valid permanently for a single model family.
Can I order for multiple regions at once?

What’s included in ISED Representative service?
iCertifi acts as the official Canadian representative under RSP-100 and DC-01. We respond to ISED inquiries, maintain documentation, and provide support for certification audits.
How do I know if I need ICES-003 or ISED?
If your device is an unintentional radiator (like IT or AV equipment), ICES-003 applies. If your device requires a grant from ISED, you also need a formal ISED Representative.
Can I change or update my representative later?
Yes — but doing so typically requires resubmission of updated documentation to the regulatory authority. We recommend maintaining consistency to avoid delays.
