Solutionary Micro-credential Course

Through this course, you can empower your students to become changemakers and connect with other educators who want to do the same.

The Institute for Humane Education (IHE) offers a Solutionary Micro-credential Course (SMC) for educators. The course provides you with a framework and resources you can use to support your students to select, learn about, and analyze a problem they care about in their school or community and then plan and take positive action.

IHE’s Solutionary Micro-credential Course supports educators to:

Foster curiosity, compassion, and inspiration in the classroom or community.
Enhance problem-based learning by empowering students to engage in systems thinking and ethical analysis.
Design highly engaging learning experiences using solutionary resources, frameworks, and tools.
Educate students to be solutionaries who apply what they learn to solve problems in their school or community.

The 30-hour online course includes 7 synchronous Zoom classes held on Wednesdays plus 2-3 hours per week of asynchronous reading, writing, and reflecting. Upon completion, you’ll receive your micro-credential, a Solutionary Badge, and optional Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through our partner, Antioch University.

The cost of the course is $395 per person. We ask that you contact your school or institution to find out if they will support this professional development opportunity. Doing so will enable us to maintain free and low-cost options for the people and schools that most need them. Scholarship information is available when you enroll.
