We offer pre-booked appointments . We can offer same day appointments,subject to availability via teams’ video call or telephone appointments.

Housing Top Tips

  • Choose your housemates carefully. Remember you'll be living with them for at least a year.
  • Visit the property. What sounds good on paper might not be so good in real life. Have a look and ask about anything you're unsure of.
  • Read your contract carefully. The Advice Centre can check your tenancy agreement if there is anything you need assistance with.
  • Take photos/videos of the meter readings and your room in case of any disputes at the end of your tenancy.

Are you getting all the finances that you're entitled to?

If you're a parent, single parent or a disabled student there are extra elements of student finance you may be able to apply for. Full-time and part-time students can apply for tuition fee and maintenance loans and also postgraduate/Doctoral students are now eligible for the postgraduate/Doctoral loan.

The Advice Centre can help you maximise your income and check if you have any benefit entitlement.

Why should I report it?

Hate crimes and incidents are hurtful, confusing and frightening. By reporting them you may be able to prevent future incidents from happening to someone else. You will also help the police to understand the extent of hate crime in your local area so they can better respond to it.


What is a hate crime?

Hate crimes are crimes that are targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards their:

  • Disability
  • Race or Ethnicity
  • Religion or belief
  • Sexual orientation
  • Transgender

These can be committed against a person or their property.

If you have experienced or witnessed any form of hate crime, please contact the Advice Centre or report it.
