Restrictions on access to Russian IP addresses at the server level

Actions

Do you think it's a good idea to restrict access to Russian IP addresses directly on the server to hide the VPN/proxy usage from Russian websites and programs?

I know about split tunneling, but sometimes it doesn't work properly, especially on Android. Sometimes you can accidentally open a Russian website from behind an VPN or proxy.

Plus, there's a recently emerged threat in all proxy clients that can even compromise the configuration.

Is this difficult to implement?
Are there any downsides to this solution?
I only see two:
1) Sometimes I want to access a Russian service without revealing my Russian IP address.
2) Because the restrictions are enforced by incompetent bastards, even seemingly "whitelisted" websites and programs sometimes don't work without a proxy and VPN.

Entry server in Russia

Actions

I'd like clearer answers regarding whitelists. I've read these posts:
https://hub.xeovo.com/posts/151-whitelist
https://hub.xeovo.com/posts/119-add-vpn-entry-node-in-russia-to-bypass-whitelists
https://hub.xeovo.com/posts/100-russia-introduces-whitelists
But they don't really provide an answer, at least to me. A simple yes/no answer is acceptable.

All questions below assume that the user assumes legal risks, costs, and basic setup.
1) Can the current whitelisting situation in Moscow be resolved technically? Regardless of the complexity of the setup on the user's end.
2) Can you provide setup instructions so that the entry server is located in Russia? Not so that you rent it, but so that the users themselves can do it?
3) Can you provide instructions on how to set everything up to use the "enemy" infrastructure as a transport?
4) Am I correct in understanding that your reluctance is due to the fact that you don't know how to monetize this? And set everything up to ensure the security of your servers?

The growing popularity of your service in Russia and the associated risks

Actions

I believe I started using your services several years ago, and back then, you were, to put it mildly, unpopular among most users in Russia.
Now, due to constant blocking, users are forced to seek out new services that will give them access to blocked resources.
Over the past two months, I've seen mentions of your service more than 10 times in various major blogs that aren't related to digital technology at all. Although in previous years, I never encountered them, only when specifically searching on forums and in specialized communities.
And you'll likely become increasingly popular, as you have many competitive advantages.
It's also clear that as your popularity grows, you'll attract increased attention from Russia and other countries where restrictions exist.

In this regard, I'd like to ask if you're considering this? Are you planning to do anything about the increasing pressure from governments (for example, some European country)? For example, if they demand that hosting providers ban VPN hosting, as AEZA recently did. Are you considering such a scenario?

The current trend of restrictions in all countries is, on the one hand, beneficial to you, but on the other, the better you perform, the more users you'll have—and therefore, more government attention, pressure, and restrictions.

Add new voting system

Actions

I suggest changing the voting system, since at the moment there is simply no one to vote.

Under user requests, you write that you will leave the topic open for someone to vote, I may be wrong, but I would not be surprised if less than 5% of users visited the hub. And even less voted, probably can be counted on the fingers of one hand)

In my opinion, the problem is that people either get to your hub by accident and immediately leave because there is no activity, or when there are problems. And most likely they write about problems directly to support, and not here.

I think that it would be possible to write suggestions in the telegram channel and put reactions there. Let's say receive messages from users through a bot and then publish them. Well, and then look at the reactions under the posts.

P.S. Maybe you don't need this and neither do users, because everything works for everyone and everyone is happy with everything, which is undoubtedly a huge plus. And only crazy people like me want some kind of innovations. Maybe I just want changes for the sake of changes.
