Empty Bowls is more than just an annual luncheon fundraiser; it’s one of the community’s favorite events. Founded by Dr. Robert Bankov and his wife, Ginny, this event takes place each February at the Morehead City Civic Center. 

When you purchase a ticket, you can choose a handmade bowl donated by local potters and art students, along with two soups prepared by the Carteret Community College Culinary School. The empty bowl you take home serves as a reminder of those worldwide whose bowls are empty. By participating, you not only enjoy a wonderful event but also support a meaningful cause. There are also silent auctions and raffles!
