Wow. I mean wow. I just watched Captain America for the second time this week, and yes I enjoyed it just as much as the first time around. I wholeheartedly agree with the following summary given by waketosleep & sutlers: OH, STEVE. Earnestness just doesn't begin to cover it.

On a totally superficial level, there is of course this:



And I'm like "COME ON, GIRL DON'T HESITATE! GRAB A PIECE OF THAT!" *coughs* Anyways...and I never noticed before but Chris Evans has the longest eyelashes I can ever remember seeing on a guy. Ever. I think he has Dean beat. *_*

Now on a non-superficial note, Chris did a very good job of playing Steve's character. He was not the smart-ass comedian from FF4, which was an initial fear of mine. He played him sincere, honest, and humble. The little guy with the heart of gold. I fell in love with Steve Rogers all over again in this movie, long before he even got the super-soldier treatment. You fall in love with his personality, his willingness to go on despite the odds. And the moment he ( *SPOILERSPOILER*Collapse ) I knew that whatever came after that point would be fine because that's Steve's personality to it's core.

LOVED it. Want some more of it. Howard Stark is amazing and hilarious. I CANNOT WAIT to see the first time that Tony & Steve meet. I will be going insane for the next year waiting for Avengers and Star Trek XII. Next year will be awesome! Speaking of which, go read this amazing Steve/Tony:

Thanks to the wonderful leupagus , my year is now complete. She made this post, and brought joy to my life ^_^ While I agree that fan fiction doesn't always get the best press, this article in Time does a very good job articulating the essence of the art itself. I feel validated. I also squeed like the total fangirl that I am to see Naomi Novik's quote, a mention of AO3, and all the slash references.

I also learned something new. Somehow I missed Rule No. 34. God, how could I miss it? I read it like every day??! I loved the following excerpts from the article:

So, Wilfred. From what I am understanding from all the previews, Elijah Woods's character sees the neighbors dog as a guy in a dog suit. Said man-in-dog-suit tries to get him to live a little buy suggesting not-so-safe activities. It sounded weird as hell before I saw these pictures.

 

OMG GUYS WHAT THE EVER-LIVING FUCK?! This is slash, slash slash. PORN & the second was in E!Weekly, FCOL. And I feel weird because is this leaning toward bestiality? Is Wilfred a man in a suit or is Elijah's character just crazy and it really is a dog? I'm going to watch it, but it will be very, very weird I predict. Any thoughts?

::feels accomplished:: I have gotten so much shit done today it's a wonder I haven't broken my smart phone's calendar. Plus, I updated my LJ theme ^_^ All though I would like to learn CSS from scratch some day, now is not the time. LJ has very poor choices, but we make due with what we have.

I got the job!! I'm going to be taking a contract job in the Bay Area, California! I'm so excited! I miss Cali so much & I <3 San Fran a lot. I'd like to make it to the KiScon while I'm out there, but we'll see.

I have a pretty header for my lj that I created. I would like to use it. After reading for 20 minutes about S2 styles, CSS, and custom theme layers, I am afraid to say that I've thrown in the towel. This makes even less sense to me than HTML. It's like reading braille in Klingon. I suppose I'll have to use one of the customizable themes, but I really just don't like them.

Any advice on a S2 customization website for dummies? Because I have a Masters degree and I feel like a moron. And my eyes are crossed. In this case, lj FAQ fails.

This is for anyone on my FL that has any legal knowledge. Does anyone have any idea what legal rights I have to evict a family member from my home? One who has been living with me for 3 years & not paying any rent or helping with the bills/upkeep/etc? And said person has become verbally abusive and aggressive? This is my brother, by the way. And there has been no physical or threat of physical harm to myself; just property. The house is in my name only.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would rather avoid getting the police involved unless absolutely necessary. After all, they are family--even if they're an ass.
